The investment foundations are legally independent of UBS. The founder of the UBS Investment Foundations 4 & 5 today is UBS Switzerland AG.

The UBS Investment Foundation 4 has effectively offered collective investment schemes specifically tailored to the needs of pension funds for over 40 years. This extensive offering is available to all zero-rated second-pillar institutions domiciled in Switzerland and Pillar 3a bank foundations.
The UBS Investment Foundation 5, which was established in 2006, specializes in collective investments that mainly invest internationally and benefit from tax advantages in various countries, as long as the investor base is limited to traditional pension funds. Non-registered institutions without statutory benefits in the case of retirement, disability, and death or Pillar 3a foundations are therefore not permitted as investors.
