The UBS Investment Foundations 4 & 5 actively exercise their shareholder rights at the annual general meetings of Swiss companies. The Board of Trustees has set out the principles regarding the exercise of voting rights as part of a policy on voting and creditors' rights.
In the case of non-controversial standard agenda items, the exercise of voting rights is delegated to the respective portfolio manager. If specific general meetings or individual agenda items are deemed to have a long-term impact on investors' interests, or if certain agenda items are the subject of fierce public debate, the Board of Trustees either exercises the voting rights itself or issues clear instructions.
