Once you have applied for vested benefits account – 2nd Pillar, we will send you the account opening documents. After you sign and return them to us, Credit Suisse Vested Benefits Foundation – 2nd Pillar will await receipt of the funds from your current pension foundation. Once the funds are received, your account will be opened.

Please send the designated copy of the account opening documents to your current pension foundation.

In order to invest the vested benefits capital, you need a vested benefits securities account. You can request one using this link.

The simplest option is to send us a letter and a corresponding confirmation of the new pension fund, including transfer instructions to:

If you wish to withdraw the vested benefits capital for any other reason, please call us to request an application for the withdrawal of vested benefits capital. You can withdraw pension capital only in certain circumstances: 

• at the earliest, five years before you reach normal AHV retirement age;
• for equity in owner-​occupied residential property;
• if you become self-​employed;
• if you leave Switzerland permanently;
• to purchase benefits in your pension fund;
• if you are in receipt of a full disability pension from the Federal Disability Insurance (IV) scheme.

We can transfer the excess amount to the new tax year, or deposit the amount in the account of your choice. In the second case, please send us the confirmation letter by the tax authority along with your payment instructions.

Please note that the tax certificates for Pillar 3a accounts are prepared and sent throughout the month of January. It may not arrive until early February.

If you have an Online Banking contract, it is possible that your tax certificate was sent electronically. To check whether this is the case, look at your e-​documents received in Online Banking under the following link.

The Federal Social Insurance Office decides the maximum Pillar 3a amounts each year. The following applies for 2024:

• Employed persons with a pension fund can pay in up to CHF 7’056.
• Employed persons without a pension fund can pay in 20% of their net earned income, up to a maximum of CHF 35’280.
