The preparations for the integration of the Swiss business of Credit Suisse into UBS are well underway. We are pleased to inform you that the vested benefits foundations of Credit Suisse and UBS will also be merged. After careful analysis, the Boards of Trustees have decided that merging the CREDIT SUISSE Vested Benefits Foundation – 2nd Pillar and the Vested Benefits Foundation of UBS AG is the best way to ensure the purpose of providing pension benefits and the interests of the pension account holders.

As a Credit Suisse account holder, what will change for me as a result of the legal merger of the CREDIT SUISSE Vested Benefits Foundation – 2nd Pillar with the Vested Benefits Foundation of UBS AG? Do I need to do anything?
- Following the legal merger of the vested benefits foundations by the end of 2024, the Vested Benefits Foundation of UBS AG, with its registered office in Basel, will become the legal contracting party of all account holders.
- Credit Suisse account holders do not need to take any action in relation to the legal merger of the vested benefits foundations, which is due to take place by the end of 2024.
- The next milestone will then be the migration of your Credit Suisse pension relationship (overall client migration) to UBS. This step will not take place until 2025.

- Following the completion of the legal merger of the vested benefits foundations by the end of 2024, there will initially be no change to the existing contact persons.
- However, with the migration of your client relationship, your contact persons may change – we will inform you of this promptly and transparently as usual.
What will happen to my pending payment requests or other outstanding business transactions upon completion of the legal merger of the pension foundations by the end of 2024?
- Pending payment requests and other outstanding business transactions remain in place and will be processed as usual.
Why do the Credit Suisse regulations continue to apply to me as a Credit Suisse account holder for the time being despite the legal merger of the CREDIT SUISSE Vested Benefits Foundation – 2nd Pillar with the Vested Benefits Foundation of UBS AG?
- For technical reasons, the processes and forms as well as the regulations of the CREDIT SUISSE Vested Benefits Foundation – 2nd Pillar will remain valid until the migration of your client relationship is completed.
- Once your client relationship has migrated, the processes, forms, and regulations of the Vested Benefits Foundation of UBS AG will apply.
What changes to the regulations can be expected for account holders of the CREDIT SUISSE Vested Benefits Foundation – 2nd Pillar?
- The regulations of the CREDIT SUISSE Vested Benefits Foundation – 2nd Pillar and the Vested Benefits Foundation of UBS AG follow the statutory provisions and their key messages are largely similar.
- Transitioning to the regulations of the Vested Benefits Foundation of UBS AG as part of the client migration will not result in any noticeable changes for CREDIT SUISSE Vested Benefits Foundation – 2nd Pillar account holders.

I already have a vested benefits account with both the CREDIT SUISSE Vested Benefits Foundation – 2nd Pillar and the Vested Benefits Foundation of UBS AG. Will these be merged as part of the migration of my client relationship?
- No, your separate vested benefits accounts will not be merged. Following the migration of your client relationship, a new vested benefits account with the Vested Benefits Foundation of UBS AG will be opened for your existing vested benefits account with the CREDIT SUISSE Vested Benefits Foundation – 2nd Pillar.
Can I use the forms of the Vested Benefits Foundation of UBS AG for the payout of my vested benefits account with the CREDIT SUISSE Vested Benefits Foundation – 2nd Pillar?
- No, this is not possible until the migration of your client relationship is completed. Until then, the CREDIT SUISSE Vested Benefits Foundation – 2nd Pillar forms must be used and submitted to the CREDIT SUISSE Vested Benefits Foundation – 2nd Pillar.
As a Credit Suisse account holder, why do I continue to receive documents from the CREDIT SUISSE Vested Benefits Foundation – 2nd Pillar following the legal merger of the CREDIT SUISSE Vested Benefits Foundation – 2nd Pillar with the Vested Benefits Foundation of UBS AG?
- For technical reasons, the CREDIT SUISSE Vested Benefits Foundation – 2nd Pillar will continue to send your client documents until the migration of your client relationship is completed.
- Following the migration of your client relationship, the documents will be sent by the Vested Benefits Foundation of UBS AG.
Will the account management fees of my vested benefits account change after my client relationship has been migrated?
- No, the account management fees for both the CREDIT SUISSE Vested Benefits Foundation – 2nd Pillar and the Vested Benefits Foundation of UBS AG are CHF 36 per year.
- However, these fees will be billed annually for the Vested Benefits Foundation of UBS AG at the end of the year instead of quarterly.
What will happen to my Credit Suisse investment groups (CSA Mixta-BVG)?
- Nothing will change for your Credit Suisse investment groups (CSA Mixta-BVG). Existing investment groups will be transferred to UBS during the migration of your client relationship in and do not need to be sold.
- Once the migration of your client relationship has been completed, new investments in the Credit Suisse investment groups (CSA Mixta-BVG) will no longer be possible. Instead, UBS Vitainvest investment funds will be available.
