Merger of the CREDIT SUISSE Vested Benefits Foundation – 2nd Pillar with the Vested Benefits Foundation of UBS AG

 
The CREDIT SUISSE Vested Benefits Foundation – 2nd Pillar merged with the Vested Benefits Foundation of UBS AG in December 2024. As a result, the CREDIT SUISSE Vested Benefits Foundation – 2nd Pillar was dissolved and deleted from the commercial register. The merger will give all account holders equal access to UBS’s wide range of employee benefits insurance services. Protecting the interests of our clients and their trust in the vested benefits foundations is our top priority.

What will happen to my Credit Suisse investment groups (CSA Mixta-BVG)?

  • Nothing will change for your Credit Suisse investment groups (CSA Mixta-BVG). Existing investment groups will be transferred to UBS during the migration of your Credit Suisse pension relationship and do not need to be sold.
  • Following the transfer of your Credit Suisse pension relationship, new investments in the Credit Suisse investment groups (CSA Mixta-BVG) will no longer be possible. UBS Vitainvest Investment Funds will be available instead.

As a Credit Suisse account holder, what will change for me following the merger of the CREDIT SUISSE Vested Benefits Foundation – 2nd Pillar with the Vested Benefits Foundation of UBS AG? Do I need to do anything?

  • Following the merger of the vested benefits foundations at the end of 2024, the Vested Benefits Foundation of UBS AG, with its registered office in Basel, will become the legal contracting party of all account holders.

  • The transfer of your Credit Suisse pension relationship and products will mostly take place in 2025 – we will communicate with you in a timely and transparent manner.

Will I have a new contact person after the pension foundations have been merged at the end of 2024?

  • Following the merger of the vested benefit foundations at the end of 2024, there will initially be no change to the existing contact persons.
  • However, with the transfer of your Credit Suisse pension relationship and products, your contact persons may change – as always we will inform you of this promptly and transparently.

What will happen to my pending payment requests or other outstanding business transactions following the merger of the pension foundations at the end of 2024?

  • Pending payment requests and other outstanding business transactions remain in place and will be processed as usual.

Why do the Credit Suisse regulations continue to apply to me as a Credit Suisse account holder for the time being despite the merger of the CREDIT SUISSE Vested Benefits Foundation – 2nd Pillar with the Vested Benefits Foundation of UBS AG?

  • For technical reasons, the processes, forms and regulations of the former CREDIT SUISSE Vested Benefits Foundation – 2nd Pillar will remain valid until the transfer of your Credit Suisse pension relationship and products.
  • Once your pension relationship and products have been migrated, the processes, forms and regulations of the Vested Benefits Foundation of UBS AG will apply.

  • Yes, in the context of the transfer of your Credit Suisse pension relationship and products, all pension beneficiaries of the former CREDIT SUISSE Vested Benefits Foundation – 2nd Pillar will be issued a new account number for their vested benefits accounts with the Vested Benefits Foundation of UBS AG.

I already have a vested benefits account with both the former CREDIT SUISSE Vested Benefits Foundation – 2nd Pillar and the Vested Benefits Foundation of UBS AG. Will these be consolidated in the course of transferring my Credit Suisse pension relationship and products?

  • No, your separate vested benefits accounts will not be merged. With the transfer of your Credit Suisse pension relationship and products, a new vested benefits account will be opened with the Vested Benefits Foundation of UBS AG for your existing vested benefits account with the former CREDIT SUISSE Vested Benefits Foundation – 2nd Pillar.

Can I use the forms of the Vested Benefits Foundation of UBS AG for the payout of my vested benefits account with the former CREDIT SUISSE Vested Benefits Foundation – 2nd Pillar?

  • No, this is not possible until the transfer of your Credit Suisse pension relationship and products is completed. Until then, the forms of the former CREDIT SUISSE Vested Benefits Foundation – 2nd Pillar must be used and submitted to the former CREDIT SUISSE Vested Benefits Foundation – 2nd Pillar.

As a Credit Suisse account holder, why do I continue to receive documents from the CREDIT SUISSE Vested Benefits Foundation – 2nd Pillar following the merger of the former CREDIT SUISSE Vested Benefits Foundation – 2nd Pillar with the Vested Benefits Foundation of UBS AG?

  • For technical reasons, the former CREDIT SUISSE Vested Benefits Foundation – Pillar 2 will continue to send your client documents until the transfer of your Credit Suisse pension relationship and products is complete.
  • The Vested Benefits Foundation of UBS AG will send the documents following the migration of your Credit Suisse pension relationship and products.

Will the account management fees of my vested benefits account change after the transfer of my Credit Suisse pension relationship and products?

  • No, the account management fees for both the CREDIT SUISSE Vested Benefits Foundation – 2nd Pillar and the Vested Benefits Foundation of UBS AG are CHF 36 per year.
  • However, for the Vested Benefits Foundation of UBS AG these fees will be billed annually at the end of the year instead of quarterly.

  • Nothing will change for your Credit Suisse investment groups (CSA Mixta-BVG). Existing investment groups will be transferred to UBS during the migration of your pension relationship and products and do not need to be sold.
  • Following the transfer of your Credit Suisse pension relationship and products, new investments in the Credit Suisse investment groups (CSA Mixta-BVG) will no longer be possible. UBS Vitainvest Investment Funds will be available instead.
