How many branches does the combined branch network include in total? How many overlap?
- UBS operates a total of 192 branches and Credit Suisse 95 branches in Switzerland.
- During the integration, we’ll be sticking to the UBS Blueprint and will continue to be represented by around 190 branches throughout Switzerland. This means that Credit Suisse clients will have access to twice as many locations after the completed client migration.
- At the 85 locations where both banks have a branch in the immediate vicinity, we’ll limit ourselves to one.
Why not keep both buildings at each location?
- In recent years, UBS has regularly consolidated its real estate portfolio and implemented a one-building strategy at many locations. For clients, there will now be only one main physical point of contact for all their inquiries and concerns.
What are the criteria for selecting a location?
- When deciding which branches will be needed in the future, we’ll look at the needs of our clients and the business, but also factors such as capacity, location, building condition (keyword: sustainability) and costs.
How do we go about the consolidation?
- As a first step, we will merge UBS and Credit Suisse branches as part of five pilot projects in stages from April 2024.
What can clients expect in the pilot branches?
- Our clients at the pilot locations will continue to be served via a comprehensive range of basic services in the UBS or Credit Suisse building where we’ll consolidate our activities.
- Until the client migration is complete, UBS and Credit Suisse services will be offered separately in the combined branches:
- Credit Suisse client advisors will advise Credit Suisse clients on Credit Suisse products.
- UBS client advisors will advise UBS clients on UBS products.
Can Credit Suisse clients receive advice and other services at any UBS branch? And vice versa?
- No, Credit Suisse clients can only take advantage of consulting and other services in those locations that are set up accordingly. For the orientation of clients, this will be clearly marked on the doors and inside the branch.
