As part of your move from Credit Suisse to UBS, your Credit Suisse TWINT account will be deactivated and you will be able to use UBS TWINT. You will be able to transfer your Credit Suisse TWINT data to UBS TWINT.

Accepted Answer

It must be an active transaction account for private clients of Credit Suisse (Switzerland) Ltd. that is suitable for making payments and is held in Swiss francs. Examples include Private accounts and Current accounts for private individuals. Examples of accounts that are not permitted include Savings accounts and Rental deposit savings accounts.

What fees will I incur for using Credit Suisse TWINT?

There is no charge for downloading Credit Suisse TWINT and registering to use the service. There are also no transaction fees charged if you use Credit Suisse TWINT to send or request money or to pay at cash registers or in online stores.

What limits are there in Credit Suisse TWINT?

Accepted Answer

For security reasons, there are different limits in Credit Suisse TWINT.

Spending limit:

Sending money (P2P): CHF 1,000 per day; CHF 4,000 per month
Payments to merchants / online payments (P2M): CHF 5,000 – per day and month

Receiving limit:

Receiving money (P2P): CHF 2,000 per day; CHF 4,000 per month

Note: There is an overall limit per day and per month for all channels, i.e. P2P payments reduce the limit for P2M payments and vice versa. In addition, of the limits of the account on file, its balance, or the limit of the credit card, the lowest one is always applied. The limits are fixed and cannot be changed.

Can I also use TWINT to make a payment outside Switzerland?

No, foreign payments are currently not possible. Payments in Swiss online shops of foreign providers are basically possible depending on whether the provider accepts TWINT as the means of payment.

With Credit Suisse TWINT, you can:

Send money to friends and request money from them.
Pay with your smartphone in online shops, at cash registers, in unattended farm shops, or at vending machines.
Pay for parking fees and get unused parking credit refunded.
Enjoy additional benefits thanks to integrated digital loyalty cards, coupons, and stamp cards.

How do I send money to friends using Credit Suisse TWINT?

You can transfer money to your friends using Credit Suisse TWINT for a variety of reasons, such as to pay for your share of dinner at a restaurant. To do that, select the “Send” function.

Now enter the amount to be transferred and the person to whom you want to make the payment. You can select this person from your phone contacts or enter their name and mobile phone number yourself. You can also write a message and attach a photo or a GIF, if needed.

Tap the “Send moneyˮ button to activate the transfer.

How do I request money from friends using Credit Suisse TWINT?

The Credit Suisse TWINT “Request and split” function can be used to request money from friends and family, simply by entering the requested amount and selecting the person who will make the payment from your phone contacts or entering their name and mobile phone number. You can also write a message and attach a GIF or a photo. Tap the “Request moneyˮ button to start the request process. Amounts may also be divided between several people. For this, select “Request and split” on the home screen and tap on “Split amount.ˮ Then, enter the amount to be split, add a title, and select the desired contacts. By default, the amount is split equally. However, you can also enter the amounts manually.

What are the advantages of using Credit Suisse TWINT to pay in online shops, and what’s the payment process?

Using Credit Suisse TWINT to pay for your online purchases has many advantages:

It’s quick and transparent: the payment is made without any delay and, if there is an account connection, is reflected immediately in the account balance.
It’s convenient: there’s no need to tediously enter your credit card information.
It’s secure: you don’t have to send your payment details to the online shop.

Here’s how you can use Credit Suisse TWINT to make payments in online shops:

In the online store, select “TWINT” as the payment type. You will be shown a QR code and a five-digit numerical code.
Open Credit Suisse TWINT and tap on the QR code icon at the bottom right. You may either aim your smartphone camera at the QR code or enter the numerical code.
Confirm the amount by tapping “OK.ˮ

If you have stored your customer loyalty cards, such as the Coop Supercard, in your Credit Suisse TWINT account or have activated coupons, they will usually be applied automatically during the payment process.

How secure is Credit Suisse TWINT?

Credit Suisse TWINT uses multiple security features to make the solution as secure as possible. For example, the only way to open Credit Suisse TWINT is with your individual TWINT PIN. To further increase security, we also recommend that you configure a PIN for your smartphone.

Communication between Credit Suisse TWINT on the customer’s smartphone and the retailer’s terminal takes place via terminal on which a QR code is shown. However, the transaction always occurs in a secure environment and not between the terminal and the smartphone. Credit Suisse TWINT does not transmit any sensitive or personal information via the terminal. Security and privacy are guaranteed just as much whenever payment is made using a QR code at the payment terminal.

Where will my data be stored?

Your data is stored centrally, on TWINT’s server. This server is located in Switzerland and uses the same security measures as a bank for protecting data. In addition, TWINT regularly has external companies examine whether information security is guaranteed.

TWINT does not store any sensitive or personalized data. The data and money are stored in a secure environment (comparable to an online banking system).

In addition, your data will be stored on Swisscom servers, since it operates this service as a technical service provider for Credit Suisse.
